MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION RESOURCES

Ever tried to meditate? We get into a seated position, cross legged, hands on knees, thumbs touching fingers........ While all of these may help align our chakras and such, when we are first learning to meditate, the primary thing we need to do is to get present in the here and now. So if you are uncomfortable, in pain, or worried about everything being just so, you will not be able to relax enough to be present for the meditation! GET COMFORTABLE! Sit in a recliner or lie down in bed. Make sure you not too cold or warm. Eat a snack and have something to hydrate with before hand. Go to the bathroom. Silence your phone and eliminate other distractions. Use a guided meditation on YouTube so you don't have to figure out how to meditate. The primary task of meditation is to pull yourself out of the day to day and lose yourself in peaceful thought, not get yourself to a monastery in full regalia twisted up in knots sitting on a cliff. So don't stress out about anything other than being comfortable, relaxing, accepting the intruding thoughts as they come in and saying bye bye as they go out. Let your guide get you to a calm peaceful place.

Here are some helpful resources on living mindfully and meditating.
